KITCHEN POSITIONS: 

We are hiring for the following kitchen positions:

  • Executive Pastry Chef

The Pastry Chef reports to the Executive Chef and is responsible for the menu creations according to the Bearfoot Standards, food cost control, hiring in the pastry department, ordering pastry related food items, catering functions, development and production.  The pastry Chef is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the pastry department and will work in collaboration with the Executive Chef to exceeding all standards of service and guests satisfaction.

Responsibilities: 

  • Leading pastry team in preparing and serving high quality pastries and breads
  • Plating restaurant desserts and banquet style pastry
  • Maintaining effective communication within the kitchen management
  • Keeping aware of daily functions in the restaurant and catering
  • Ensuring highest quality and standard of food
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensure proper food safe procedures are followed by all staff
  • Showing creative input
  • Ensuring the Health and Safety of employees at all times
  • Controlling cost by minimizing spoilage, waste and exercising portion control.
  • Ensuring fridges, freezers and work area are left in a tidy and organized manner.
  • Rotating stock
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • 6-8 years experience in bread making, chocolate work, and individual dessert plating
  • Proven Ability to lead a team 
  • Experience with pastry in high volume functions, including high end plated desserts 
  • Graduation from a recognized culinary program is an asset 
  • Highly reliable and responsible 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills

 

  • Pastry cook

The Pastry cook assists the Pastry Chef in the smooth and efficient operation of the pastry department in the kitchen and is responsible for maintaining and exceeding all standards of service and guests satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to Executive Chef and Pastry Chef
  • Maintain effective communication within the kitchen management 
  • Ensure highest quality and standard of food
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper food safe procedures are followed by all staff
  • Show creative input
  • Ensuring the Health and Safety of employees at all times
  • Highly reliable and responsible 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
  • Physical Work may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Food safe level 1 certification an asset
  • Ability to lift 25 kg
  • Ability to work 8 hour shift standing

 

  • Chef de Partie

The Chef the Partie assists the Executive Chef in the smooth and efficient operation of the entire kitchen team and is responsible for maintaining and exceeding all standards of service and guests satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and arranging food according to standards set by Executive Chef
  • Monitoring food holding, fridge and freezer temperatures
  • Keeping aware of daily functions in restaurant and catering
  • Ensuring quality and standard of food
  • Minimizing spoilage, waste and exercising portion control.
  • Ensuring fridges, freezers and work area are left in a tidy and organized manner.
  • Ensuring food is properly stored and wrapped
  • Rotating stock report to Executive Chef and Pastry Chef
  • Maintain effective communication within the kitchen management 
  • Ensure highest quality and standard of food
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper food safe procedures are followed by all staff
  • Show creative input
  • Ensuring the Health and Safety of employees at all times
  • Highly reliable and responsible 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
  • Physical Work may be required

  • First Cook

The first cook assists the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef in the smooth and efficient operation in the kitchen and is responsible for maintaining and exceeding all standards of service and guests satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication within the kitchen management
  • Ensure highest quality and standard of food
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper food safe procedures are followed by all staff
  • Show creative input
  • Ensuring the Health and Safety of employees at all times
  • Highly reliable and responsible 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills

  • Catering Cook

 

  • Dishwasher

The dishwasher report to all cooks and the Executive Chef in the smooth and efficient operation in the kitchen and is responsible for washing dished and exceeding all standards of service and guests satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, glassware, etc., by hand when necessary.
  • Restock all supplies.
  • Keep area in kitchen clean and free of debris and water.
  • Stock any deliveries received in a timely and safe manner.
  • Remove all garbage, recycling and compost from designated areas routinely.
  • Assist other kitchen staff with tasks when necessary
  • Maintain effective communication within the kitchen management 
  • Ensure highest quality and standard of food
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper food safe procedures are followed by all staff
  • Ensuring the Health and Safety of employees at all times
  • Highly reliable and responsible 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
  • Physical Work may be required

DINING ROOM POSITIONS:

BAR 

Responsibilities: 

  • Greeting and serving drinks to guests in a knowledgeable and professional way
  • Mixing drinks and controlling the beverage stock as per guidelines
  • Keeping up to date on promotions and restaurant menu
  • Handling cash and credit transactions
  • Complying with Serving It Right guidelines at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Serving It Right
  • Previous bartending experience required
  • Passion for the food and beverage industry
  • Ability to work well under pressure

 

SERVER 

Responsibilities:

  • Positively promoting the restaurant and assisting guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Memorizing the menu and have an understanding of the dishes and ingredients.
  • Attending Pre-shift meetings to stay informed of any changes in the restaurant menu or service
  • Shift preparation, service and closing duties
  • Following Serving It Right guidelines to ensure guest safety
  • Pairing wines with different menu items
  • Offering service support to any team members when needed
  • Understanding and embracing the current food & beverage programs
  • Maintaining effective communication within restaurant team, and with managers
  • Any other duties that may be assigned periodically

Qualifications:

  • Serving It Right
  • Previous experience serving in a fast-paced restaurant preferred
  • Passion for the food and beverage industry
  • Previous customer service experience an asset

 

FOOD RUNNER 

Responsibilities

  • Memorizing the menu and describing the dishes at the table.
  • Delivering food and clearing dishes from tables efficientl
  • Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Keeping current with the food & beverage programs
  • Working cohesively in a team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience an asset
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 45 lbs
